Why do I have to study History?

History is important to study because by studying the past, we can prepare for the future! Through the study of a diverse range of times, places and cultures; historians will be able to develop their skills as 21st century, critical thinkers.

In Year 10 and 11, students have 4 History lessons a week, where we study modules that cover a mixture of breadth (e.g. exploring themes over time) and depth (e.g. focusing in detail on a specific event). A range of skills will be developed throughout this course; ranging from analysing historical interpretations to engaging with challenging historical sources.
