Student Leadership

At London Enterprise Academy we are very proud of our Student Leadership Team. The proactive student leaders, which include our school prefects and school council members, are at the forefront of all decision making on behalf of our school community and work together to make the school a place where students can feel empowered to be the best they can be.

The Prefect System

To become a school prefect is a prestigious role that is widely recognised by further education establishments and employers. Our prefect system consists of two Head students and Deputy Head students, supported by a team of Head of Houses. Our prefect's provide important leadership within the school which includes supporting the pastoral team during form periods, assisting with the implementation of school rules in break duties as well as mentoring and running breaktime clubs for younger students. Our prefects develop leadership and communication skills, build their confidence and gain valuable experience which will benefit them in their future careers. All students are encouraged to apply for the role of prefect towards the end of year 10.

The School Council

Our student school councilors are made up of a group of students who are elected by their peers to represent students' opinions and raise issues with the staff in the school. The student council provides an important role in ensuring students have their say and positive change is made throughout the school. Currently, our school council is working towards the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools award, which involves the students understanding their rights as children and coming up with ideas to empower other students to understand their rights that these values are embedded into daily school life.

Why should students get involved in leadership roles?

Student leaders have an exciting and valuable role within the school. Not only do they develop transferable skills such as communication, collaboration and critical thinking, but by pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone, they build their confidence and self-esteem and foster a sense of professional responsibility. This allows them to move on from London Enterprise Academy feeling empowered to take their next steps and tackle any challenges that come their way.
